When starting a new business, one of the things that will need to be listed in the filing with the Secretary of State is the registered agent for the new business. A registered agent is a person or an entity who accepts service on behalf of the business.

While you can serve as your own registered agent in some cases, it is not advisable in several situations. An example would be if you operate your business out of your own home. If you run an at home business and want to serve as the registered agent, your home address will be public and easily discoverable on the Secretary of State website.

Here at Hill Law, we provide registered agent services for our business clients as well as other businesses who simply need a registered agent. If you are interested in using our firm as your registered agent or have any questions, you can contact us today at 919-275-2053 or by email at lindsey@bradhillesq.com.
